Floods are the #1 Natural Disaster

Springtime is around the corner.. your homeowners and renters policies do not cover flood water (water from the outside of your home. Common flooding here in Alaska results in heavy rains, ice jams, rapid snow melt, and more.)

A separate policy must be purchase, Flood insurance is the only protection through FEMA can cover water damage from spring flooding. We can process the paperwork here at Hood Agency, call for more information.

Note: flood insurance has a 30 day waiting period, so don't wait to get coverage.

Drive always with your Headlights on

Daytime running lights (DRLs) are headlights that are lit whenever a vehicle is running. A low-cost method to reduce crashes, they are especially effective in preventing daytime head-on and front-corner collisions by making it easier to see vehicles, particularly as they approach from far away. Information from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Prevention of accidents is the greatest cure for lower insurance rates!
